Extra and Co-Curricular Activities
The school is very committed to the development of the full range of each student’s talents and aptitudes. Students are invited and encouraged to participate in a wide array of sports and other activities outside the regular school timetable.
The school enters and competes in inter-schools competitions in: Athletics, Badminton, Camogie, Futsal, Gaelic Football, Ladies Gaelic Football, Hurling, and Rugby.
Teams are also entered into the BSTAI quiz, Debating and Public Speaking, Student Enterprise Awards, Young Scientist Competition, Scifest and Gaisce. On a year-to-year basis our students participate in other competitions, enterprises, exchanges and projects. Regularly students are offered the opportunity to broaden their horizons by taking part in school tours on a national and international basis.
The school is committed to staging a whole school Musical production every number of years. The Music department also boasts a choir and music ensemble.
At the end of each academic year, exceptional performance and achievement are recognised at our Awards Day.
The school is greatly indebted to teachers who give so generously of their time and expertise in the promotion of these activities on a voluntary basis. The help and encouragement of members of the local community also facilitate the development of these activities and are, once again, deeply appreciated by the school.
