1st Year Track and Field event
Well done to our 23 athletes in first year who participated in this year’s South Galway Track and Field Event in Dangan. They competed in the 100m, 200m, Shot Putt, Long Jump, Javelin and relay events.

Coláiste Mhuire entered four teams into the recent Connacht Ladies tag tournament in Creggs RFC. Two at senior and two at junior level. Thank you to Wendy and Michael from Connacht rugby for organising the day.
Our first year students had a great day in Coláiste An Eachreidh for the annual activity day. They took part in a range of activities such including soccer, Gaelic football, tug-o-war and no man’s land.
A group of our students from Transition Year attended the Co Galway Student Enterprise Awards in the Salthill Hotel in Galway with their teacher Mrs Clogher. The students have been working on setting up and running their own enterprises since last September. Tag Designs was set up by Andrew Naughton, Ethan Glennon and Eamonn Trayers….
As part of the programme, our student advisory committe, also known as “Creative Kaleidoscopes” took part in a research trip to Dún Na Sí Heritage Park & Sculpture trail in Moate followed by a visit to Luan Gallery in Athlone. The Programme aims to facilitate student led creative initiatives in the school.
15 girls from the school participated in the Connaught Schools Badminton Competitions at Under 14 level this year. They competed against schools from Westport, Tuam, Galway City, Ballaghadereen, Louisburg and Roscommon. They narrowly missed out to the Convent of Mercy, Roscommon in the final. Well done to all the participants.
Our Transition Year students spent the day discovering the local points of interest in a history tour facilitated by local historian, Paul Connolly.
Transition year parents Fergus Naughton of Ross Engineering, Rosemarie Trayers and Maureen Carty visited our Transition year students to discuss their experiences of entrepreneurship and volunteerism in their relevant areas of employment.
