Coláiste Mhuire has a long tradition in Hurling. We currently have teams entered at Senior C, Junior B, Juvenile C and 2nd Year B levels in Connacht Schools. We also take part in blitzes for 2nd and 1st Years twice a year. After school training takes place on Tuesday evenings.

Coláiste Mhuire has teams entered in 1st Year, 2nd Year, Juvenile, Junior and Senior in the Connaught schools competitions. Coláiste Mhuire have done very well in these competitions and this year are currently in the 2nd year Connacht final. Training takes place on Thursdays after school.

Coláiste Mhuire works in partnership with Ballygar Badminton Club in the promotion of badminton as a sport for life. The inaugural competition between St. Cuans and Coláiste Mhuire, Ballygar was held in January 2012, with Coláiste Mhuire being victorious. The competition will be held on an annual basis.

Ladies Football
Coláiste Mhuire Ladies Football Team participates at Senior, Junior (under 16) and Under 14 levels in the Connacht Post Primary Schools Championship. 2011/12 has been a very successful year for our school teams. The Senior Girls qualified from their Group stages and will go on to play Foxford in the Connacht Quarter Final in spring, the Junior team are just one game away from also qualifying for the Connacht Quarter Finals. Laura Mulrooney is captaining the U14 team this year, Leanne Walsh is captain of the junior Team. Our Senior Captain, Laura Fleming was nominated for a Connacht Post Primary Schools All-Star award this year and she did an excellent job representing her school and her team mates at Connacht Level. The team train every Wednesday after school and are coached by Ms. Miriam Cuddy and Ms. Geraldine Fallon.

Coláiste Mhuire has a very strong rugby squad made up of 1st and 2nd years. They compete in local blitzes and in the Connacht Competition each tear. The junior team is captained by Shane Dowd from Creggs.
